In accordance with the Great Commission, the Downtown Church of Christ supports a number of mission efforts both home and abroad. For nearly two decades the Barry Rosie family has spread the Gospel to the continent of Africa. Currently located on the island of Madagascar, they have expanded their work to include a home for abandoned children.
Statewide outreach includes support of the often forgotten mission field of college campuses. Downtown also plays an active role both financially and administratively in the operation of an area church camp and retreat center. Local benevolence is vital to community relations, and the Downtown congregation does its part in helping meet the needs of those who have hit hard times.
Downtown also supports Southern Christian Home, which for more than 75 years has provided a loving environment for displaced children.
